About Us

Troop 320 is an active Boy Scout Troop in the Town of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.  We are a unit within the Cardinal District of the Occoneechee Council.

Originally chartered in 1951, Troop 320 has been continually serving Fuquay-Varina for the past 40 years. It has been awarded the Quality Unit award for the past 39 years.

Troop 320 goes by the "Orange Crush" nickname, a reference to the color of their hats and the colors of Fuquay-Varina High School. This name was given to them by fellow troops as 320 arrived at summer camp in a very large, old and crinkled orange school bus many years ago.  A tradition of the troop is to hand out cans of Orange Crush soda to other scouts at summer camp.

Join our troop.  We will be meeting behind the church  at 100 Judd Parkway SE, Fuquay Varina from 7:30 PM until 9:00 PM

Scouts will have the option of bringing their own bike and helmets (needs to be hybrid or mountain bike ... not a thin-tire road bike) or you can rent a bike and helmet in the mountains for an additional fee of $22.  We will be building racking on a flat bed to transport bikes there and back (without damage).

This trip is an action packer trip with options for hammock or tent camping only as we will be staying at Beartree campground with facilities (20993 Beartree Gap Rd, Damascus, VA 24236).

Scouts will need Friday dinner in bag/belly, $22 for bike rentals (if needed), Sunday lunch money and funds for their patrol grub master for their share of their patrol food.

Scouts will need signed Troop Trip Permission form and Covid form (both found on Web Site for download).

Please plan to arrive at the farm as close to 3 PM as possible for a departure time of 4 PM. Please contact Matt Harrenstein (mjharrenstein@gmail.com) if you cannot make it to the farm by 3:30.
