About Us

Troop 320 is an active Boy Scout Troop in the Town of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.  We are a unit within the Black River District of the Occoneechee Council.

Originally chartered in 1951, Troop 320 has been continually serving Fuquay-Varina for the past 40 years. It has been awarded the Quality Unit award for the past 39 years.

Troop 320 goes by the "Orange Crush" nickname, a reference to the color of their hats and the colors of Fuquay-Varina High School. This name was given to them by fellow troops as 320 arrived at summer camp in a very large, old and crinkled orange school bus many years ago.  A tradition of the troop is to hand out cans of Orange Crush soda to other scouts at summer camp.

Join our troop.  We will be meeting behind the church  at 100 Judd Parkway SE, Fuquay Varina from 7:30 PM until 9:00 PM

Scouts should arrive by 4:30 to help set up

The kick-off event is Sunday, November 29, 5:00 - 6:30 pm. Scouts should be in place and ready to roll by 4:45 pm.
*This is a drive-thru event, with church members entering via the Judd Parkway entrance, and exiting at Academy Street.
*Please ask all scouts and volunteers to park in the back gravel lot.
*Our plan is to have the Scout Luminary Station as the last stop prior to exit, so you guys will be setup along the Children's Wing sidewalk.
*Please have one (or more) scout(s) designated as a "traffic control" person... after the Hot Chocolate Station, we'd like to have a Boy Scout there asking cars if they'd like to buy luminaries. (They'll stand at the red "X" on the map, near the Hot Chocolate station.) If the response is yes, the Scout will direct the car to pull into a parking space along the children's wing, where additional scouts can take and fill their order. If the person responds no, they do not want to purchase luminaries, the Scout can let them know that there is information in their packet about the luminaries (in case they're interested in purchasing later) and then the car can proceed to exit.
*One other idea - totally up to you - it will be dark for the event... it might be very cool to have luminaries lit and lining the drive through the Children's Wing portion of the parking lot... it would add to the atmosphere and decorations that we're planning, and might even inspire people that they need them for their house too! :)
